Frater Lupinus (Supernatural, AU) Sam, Dean, Bobby

Title: Frater Lupinus
Fandom: Supernatural
Genre: Gen
Characters: Sam, Dean, Bobby
Rating: PG
Word count: 17,615
A/N: Written for the 2014 Sam-Dean minibang challenge at samdean_otp! Wow, I hope I remember how to write these guys. This AU takes place in some nebulous moment in the first or second season. The title can be variously translated as 'brother of a wolf' or 'brother made from wolfskin'.

Summary: Sam's older brother is, and always has been, a wolf. It doesn't make much sense to Sam, but it's still an undeniable fact of life. Or, at least it is until Dean gets caught in the wrong spell and Sam ends up with a human-shaped brother who's surprisingly unhappy with the situation.

Sam's always known that Dean would take a secret to the grave if he thought it was in Sam's best interests. He wasn't expecting a secret like this.

Art Post

Acknowledgements: A million thank yous to yanyann for picking my story and creating some absolutely gorgeous art to go with it. Her care and attention to detail resonate through all of her work, and she has made the images in this story uniquely her own in the most wonderful way. Thank you also for your insightful questions, my dear! The story is much more than it would have been without them. Check out her art post!

Cheers and adulation for dugindeep for being so awesome about helping me figure out what the hell was actually happening in this story. And cracking the whip when I needed to write. And helping me write the summary. What would I do without you? (Fail miserably, probably).

And, finally, yay to the mods for putting this challenge together! \o/
